This is a 19th century Russian Cossack village. A young girl was accused of infidelity. In this time her husband was away on military duty. The punishment is very cruel and swift. According with Cossack customs only savage whipping of the naked girl in public in view of all villagers can remove the shame of the infidelity from the family. Later in the same day, village girls stripped the infidel girl naked and each of them lustily applied birch to her bare body. In the end one of the girls who was the leader in this punishment is also stripped and whipped on the bench in front of the entire village.
